Over the past fifteen years major improvements in filling materials have allowed us to make significant changes in the practice of dentistry.  The new materials actually bond both mechanically and chemically to the tooth structure while increasing the fracture resistance of the tooth.

We are delighted with the way these composite fillings perform and with the way they look in the mouth.  We are so pleased that we have completely discontinued the practice of placing silver/mercury fillings that were so common in the past.

Unfortunately, patients with Delta Dental and Blue Cross Blue Shield will see a greater out-of-pocket expense because these two particular insurance companies still treat tooth colored restorations on posterior teeth as elective.
